If you have been following our most recent newborn sessions, you know that we have been doing mostly boys. A few weeks ago, we had 4 different clients all with newborns and THREE of them were girls. We were so excited to try some new props and things that we just recieved.
Elizabeth and her husband are one of the families that recently welcomed their first child, a girl. She was so precious throughout the session even though she stayed awake through most of it. She really wanted to know everthing that was happening around her. She even gave some great eye contact which made for some beautiful photos.
Introducing Marion.
We recently did a radio interview with host Michelle, who was expecting a newborn of her own. We had a chance to talk about what happens during our newborn sessions and how much time really goes into these sessions. You can hear the full interview here (starting at 12 minutes)
Her and her husband came back to the studio for a first hand experience. We were delighted to see such a cute baby with a full head of hair. We wish them the best of luck with their newest addition to their family.
Introducing Eden.
We first met Heather, Michael, & Chael, last year during our Chicks & Bunnies sessions. We immediately fell in love with Chael’s amazing hair and sweet nature with the animals. When they decided to come in here for newborn photos, we were thrilled. We also found out that the baby would be their rainbow baby. It made this experience so much more special for us and them. Chael was also very excited for “his baby” and he still had his sweet nature with his new little brother.
Introducing Dash.
During our holiday season, while we see tons of babies, kids, and families, we do not get a lot of newborns in for photos. A lot of that has to do with the craziness of the season and the temperature outside. We had two moms make it into the studio with their new son. He is such a miracle to them, as he was born premature. He didn’t even make it into the studio until he was a little over a month old (we normally only photograph babies under 14 days old) These first time moms are so sweet and are going to do a wonderful job.

This newborn session was a little different for us. We normally spend most of the session taking solo photos of the baby and take only a few family shots. Stephanie and James requested before they came in to focus a bit more on family photos with their son James and their latest addition, which is exactly what we did. We really had a lot of fun with some new and different poses with them. The photos of James and the baby are some of the cutest, most adorable photos ever. James is going to be the greatest big brother.
Introducing Gabriel
Our newborn sessions are quickly becoming one of our more popular sessions. We were pleasantly surprised to have someone generously gift one of our newborn sessions to her friend, Allison. We sent her a beautifully packaged gift certificate before her baby was born and checked in frequently with progress on the baby’s due date. We were delighted when her daughter was finally born, though I’m sure not more than Allison and her husband. Her daughter was about 7 days old for her shoot and adorable. She brought in a ton of super cute headbands for us to use throughout the session (and we tried to use most of them). We also had an opportunity to use some of our new props and blankets, like our yellow floral bucket, our purple textured blanket, and our pink fuzzy. It made for some amazing and colorful photos.
Introducing Alexandra Rose.
This was an incredibly fun newborn session for us. Jillian & Ryan are huge sports fans and of course they plan on passing that on to their son. To celebrate their love of sports with their son, they brought in a bunch of baby-sized sports paraphernalia and we took some amazing photos. It was a great personal touch to the portraits. He was a trooper throughout the session and slept for most of the shoot and we even got a few smiles. We also got some great shots with Grandma! We look forward to seeing their whole family in the future for more amazing shoots.
Introducing Ryan Thomas.
Finally, a girl! After all the boys we’ve had recently it’s nice to break out the pink newborn props again. Gabriela & Thomas have been here many times with their son Ivan and were very excited to have a precious little girl. They brought some props of their own and we were able to use them in one of our new sets. The stuffed animals and baby alike sat very well and looked very cute in our new shelf set. We also added some new blankets to our collection and absolutely LOVE how they photographed. Branching out and trying new things is always a fun experience, and we had a very fun time during the shoot. Little Theodora was sound a sleep but full of smiles as she dreamed about milk. We can’t wait to see Theodora throughout the years just like we’ve seen her big brother Ivan as he’s grown. It’s always a pleasure to have them in the studio.
Introducing Theodora.
And the boys keep coming. Most of our newborn sessions lately have been boys (not that we are complaining). It’s actually been a lot of fun and some of our clients bring in their own props. We love when clients bring in handmade or sentimental items because it makes the sessions more personal. Mark & Amanda are some of our regular clients. They came in when they had their first son Declan for a newborn session and also did our First Year Of Life package with him as well. They brought some of the same props (like a hand made blanket, a page boy cap, and an old baseball glove) they used during his shoot to their new son’s shoot as well. He also had some of his own new props-like a personalized hat. We look forward to seeing their whole family in the future for more amazing shoots.
